EDUARDO ARRANZ - BRAVO

Eduardo Arranz - Bravo  2014.11.27 - 2015.02.28

Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia. Steeped in artistic tradition, this is a city of influential cosmopolitan Mediterranean culture. It gave birth to renowned artists such as Dalí, Miro and Picasso, the triumvirate of modern Spanish art. We can consider Arranz-Bravo to be one of the latest links in this lengthy chain of artists from Antoni Gaudí to Tàpies who made seminal contributions to the evolution of visual art over the course of the 20th century.

Within Spain Eduardo Arranz-Bravo is one of the most representative artists from the May’68 generation. His work deviates from the dramatic, transcendent paintings of postwar Spain favored by the informalist generation. Instead it reflects a passion for color and returns to a more figurative and multidisciplinary approach to the arts.

During transition to democracy in Spain,  Eduardo began experimenting with techniques beyond painting. He delved into the world of etching, sculpture, drawing, performance and film. He is a natural artist: youthful, creative, passionate and committed to artistic creation and the liberation that art generates.

This November, Matthew Liu Fine Arts is pleased to host the first solo exhibition for Eduardo Arranz-Bravo in China. We have carefully selected over 40 pieces. Comprising of mostly recent works the exhibition will include an array of paintings, drawings and sculptures.

Please join us this November 27th from 5pm - 8pm, to attend the vernissage of Eduardo Arranz-Bravo’s exhibition. The evening will give guests a chance to preview the exhibition and discuss works with the artist himself.
